My Devotion Today

March 17

"Consider Him that endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds."  Hebrews 12:3

Jesus endured cruel attacks from sinners who said bad things to Him and about Him.  He was the sinless Son of God, yet evil men led Him away and crucified Him.  He was spit upon, mocked, slapped, ridiculed but endured it all.  He was totally committed to fulfilling God's will for His life, so He was willing to suffer and die for us.

Our afflictions are light in comparison to His.  We must not allow the ridicule of others to keep us from showing the Lord's own Spirit of meekness and submission to the will of God.  Because our Savior kept the right spirit and attitude, we can do the same.  His power is sufficient to help us today.

Do not faint, dear Christian friend.

Think of where our Lord has been.

He endured the ridicule

And helps me live the golden rule.
