"Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly." Psalm 1:1
We all need counsel and guidance in this life. But it is important that we get our help from the right sources. Just think of the tiny child that needs to be taught everything. How dependent he is on others to give him good advice. How much love, patience, and understanding has to go into the training of a child.
Everything is new to children and they eagerly accept good counsel. In this same way, we as Christians need to be taught the precepts of the Lord. Just think how tragic it would be for a child to get evil advice.
Ungodly people would surely lead Christians astray if possible. Because of this, we need to reject their counsel and not walk in it. Always stay close to Jesus so that He may instruct you from His Word and by His Spirit. He will give you Christian friends to pray with you and advise you.
May I delight to hear Thy Word,
And wrong advice seem quite absurd.
Counsel I will seek from Thee
That's safe for all eternity.
