"For Thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness." Psalm 18:28
The light of the world is Jesus. We are His candles. Jesus Himself will enlighten us to be a blessing to help others. No matter what darkness we may be experiencing, the Lord will dispel that darkness with the light of His presence.
It is impossible for darkness to stay when Jesus is around. He is light and all darkness has to leave at His presence. That is why it is so important for us to go to Jesus when we are sad, when we are lonely, when we don't know what to do. He will lighten our pathway and lead us on toward Heaven.
He wants us to be little lights to show others the way to God. May we be the lights to this world that God would have us be, not only today but always and evermore.
Thou, Lord, wilt light my candle small-
I want to shine forth at Thy call.
All darkness must flee from the smallest light;
Make me Thine own reflector bright.
