"... The Lord is able to give thee much more than this."
II Chronicles 25:9
The king of Judah had hired one hundred thousand men for one hundred talents of silver to help defeat his enemies. When the Lord sent him word not to use these men, the king wanted to know what he should do about losing all of this money. That is why the man of God told him that the Lord is able to give thee much more than this.
To do right and obey God is more important than any amount of wealth and fame. We can also apply this truth spiritually. Whatever anyone has to offer us, however far along we have come in our Christian life, the Lord is able to give us much more than we have. Let us choose the Lord's blessings over anything and everything else in life.
He is able much more to give
When in His perfect will we live.
Nothing the world may offer me
Compares to the joy of pleasing Thee.
