How To Be Saved
And Know It
Many people are searching for peace in their souls and the Bible tells us that there is only one way to find that peace. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus" (I Timothy 2:5).
First, we must admit that we are sinners and that we deserve punishment for our sins. "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).
Jesus Christ said "I am the way, the truth, and the life". The only way to get to heaven is to believe that Jesus took your sins on the cross of Calvary. So the second step is to "believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved" (Acts 13:21).
Then we will confess Him as our Savior and to others. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (I John 1:9). We are not saved necessarily because we feel saved but because God's Word says we are. We will love Him and give Him first place in our hearts. We will want to please Him. We will want to tell others what He has done in our lives. Jesus said: "Whosoever therefore shall confess Me before men, Him will I confess also before My Father which is in Heaven" (Matthew 10:32).
