My Devotion Today

"He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and He shall be My son." Revelation 21:7
To overcome in this life, we must have Jesus as our Savior. He alone overcame the devil when He said, "It is finished," and died on Calvary for our sins. Living in us as Lord of our lives, He can cause us to inherit all things.
The most important part of this promise is that He will be our God and we will be His children. This is another one of God's promises to the overcomer. We can overcome every temptation that comes our way - remembering that Jesus overcame when He was tempted by the devil. We can overcome the trials and buffetings of life.
Don't forget what Jesus prayed after He had been mistreated by people: "Father, forgive them because they know not what they do." You will overcome through Christ and His finished work. How glorious to know that we will live with Him forever.
God will call me His dear son
When the victory I've won.
My inheritance shall be
Christ my Lord who died for me.
