My Devotion Today

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God; not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8,9
Our salvation is entirely dependent upon the Lord Jesus Christ. We are saved by the grace of God through faith which He imparts to us. We cannot work to get salvation. No amount of good we could ever do would earn it. Going to church or being baptized doesn't save us. Salvation is of the Lord - His free gift to us.
Only the blood of Jesus makes atonement for our sins. Even the faith is not of ourselves; it too is the gift of God. We honestly have nothing to boast about. The Lord is tenderhearted and very merciful to give us His gracious salvation.
May our lives every day prove that we appreciate the wonderful work Jesus did for us on Calvary's cross. May our lips and lives praise Him!
Salvation I cannot earn-
'Tis wrought by God's grace alone.
God gives me the faith to trust;
It's His blood that makes me just.
