My Devotion Today

"No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please Him who hath chosen him to be a soldier." II Timothy 2:4
When we trusted Jesus as our own personal Savior, we became a soldier of the cross. Because we are in God's army, we have to stop getting mixed up with the things of the world. Jesus must always be first, no matter what the circumstance. "For ye are bought with a price, therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's" (I Corinthians 6:20). The blood of Jesus was the ultimate price to pay for our souls but, praise be unto God, He did pay that price!
We must glorify Him both in body and in spirit. Let us always remember whom we belong to and whom we serve. Let's keep ourselves unspotted from the world. We are in the world but we are not of the world.
I'm in a warfare here below,
And this one thing I surely know:
I must to Jesus e'er be true-
Strive to please Him in all I do.
