"Bread corn is bruised..." Isaiah 28:28
In order for you and me to enjoy eating cornbread, a process has to take place. The corn has to be bruised and crushed in order to be made into bread. In the same way, we as Christians, in order to be used of the Lord, have to be broken. Our wills have to be broken by and yielded to the Lord Jesus Christ.
If we would be used by the Lord to bless and help others, let us not shrink from the bruising process that is the work of the Lord in our lives.
Bread has often been called the staff of life. Bread is nourishing to those who eat it in its different forms. Just as there is corn bread, wheat bread, yeast bread, rye bread or other breads, so we as different individuals are used by the Lord to produce the nourishment and encouragement for those in need.
Some may need the help that only you can give them. May the Lord cause patience to have her perfect work in you today.
The crushing is painful, Lord,
But I would be used by Thee.
No bruising will ever be too hard
As you make bread corn of me.
