"... the Lord said to thee, thou shalt feed My people..." II Samuel 5:2
The Lord told David he was to feed His people. As Christians, we are to give spiritual food to our fellow Christians. It may be a verse of scripture; it may be a warm smile of encouragement; it might be helpfulness to a sick person or many other acts of kindness to show forth God's love. You might be called upon to teach a Sunday school class.
What wonderful love-in-action it is to feed God's people. There may be an opportunity when you are called on to carry physical food to someone in need. Accept that as an opportunity to show a Christlike spirit.
However the Lord calls upon you to feed His people, be faithful to Him. Remember that He said, "Whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all to the glory of God."
Help me, Lord, to feed Thy flock -
Is someone waiting for my knock?
A kind word, or a deed or two
May show my motives always true.
