Nehemiah 8:8 gives an excellent formula for witnessing for the Lord.  It is not a deep mystery or a hidden secret.  At a time in history when people needed to be reminded of God's Word and how He wanted them to live, His servants simply "read in the book of the law of God distinctly and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading."

 

In a similar way, these meditations for young and old alike give a verse from the Word of God for each day and attempt, at least in part, to explain what the verse means.  It is hoped that all readers will read with understanding and be able to apply God's Word to their daily lives.

 

Knowing that God speaks to us through His Word, this book of devotions was written to share that Word as a witness for the Lord Jesus Christ.  The thoughts, explanations, and poems are all for the glory of God.  If anyone is helped in any way, either by coming to Jesus for salvation or by being encouraged to continue in the Christian faith, every effort made to write this book will have been worthwhile.

 

May God accomplish His purpose for this book in the life of every person it will reach for Him.
